Nate Britt nieuwe point guard Yoast United
Yoast United versterkt zich aankomend seizoen met de Amerikaan Nate Britt. De 27-jarige point guard komt over van het Duitse Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (Germany Pro A) en tekent een contract voor een seizoen.
Met Nate Britt haalt Yoast United de beoogde ervaren point guard in huis. De 1.85 lange Amerikaan uit Washington speelde zijn collegecarrière bij het gerenommeerde North Carolina. In 2017 wist hij met de ‘Tar Heels’ het Nationale Kampioenschap (NCAA) te winnen, met Gonzaga als geduchte tegenstander. In dat jaar noteerde Nate als senior een gemiddelde van 4.5 punten en 2.4 assists per wedstrijd.

Na een kort avontuur bij de Atlanta Hawks in de NBA summer league vervolgt Britt zijn carrière in Europa. Daar heeft hij inmiddels verschillende clubs achter zijn naam staan, waaronder de Glasgow Rocks (BBL), Panionios (Greece) en Omonia B.C. (Cyprus). Afgelopen seizoen speelde hij bij Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (Germany Pro A), waar hij in 30 minuten mooie cijfers noteerde: 13.6 punten, 5.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds en 2.2 steals gemiddeld.

Naast zijn kwaliteiten als speler viel zijn karakter op tijdens de gesprekken, erg betrokken en de juiste winnaarsmentaliteit,’’ aldus Anouk Biesters, technische zaken Yoast United. Hoofdcoach Paul Vervaeck vult aan: ‘’Nate is een slimme, veelzijdige point guard, die perfect past in het spel dat we willen spelen. Als verlengstuk van de coaching staff zal hij de lijnen uit gaan zetten binnen het veld.‘’

Nate over zijn komst naar Yoast United: 'Ik heb heel veel zin om naar de club te komen! Ik ervaar Yoast United als een zeer professionele organisatie die de sfeer en continuïteit onder de spelers & de technische staf als prioriteit stelt en als basis ziet voor succes. Dat spreekt mij aan. Bovendien is coach Vervaeck is een ervaren coach. Ik zie dat we een sterke band hebben en ik kijk ernaar uit om dit seizoen veel van hem te leren. Het team van Yoast United is bijna compleet en bestaat nu uit Kaleb Warner, Bob Berghuis, Nesta Agasi en Duane Wilson, Lucas N’Guessan, Josh Ferguson, Jaro Abrams en Nate Britt. De rest van de selectie wordt aankomende weken gepresenteerd.

Nate Britt new point guard Yoast United
Yoast United signed American Nate Britt for upcoming season in the BNXT League. The 27-year-old point guard transfers from the German Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (Germany Pro A) and signs a contract for one season.
With Nate Britt, Yoast United bring in the experienced point guard they were looking for. The 1.85 tall American from Washington played his college career at the renowned North Carolina. In 2017 he won the National Championship (NCAA) with the 'Tar Heels', against Gonzaga as opponent. That year Nate averaged 4.5 points and 2.4 assists per game as a senior.

He has played for several clubs, including the Glasgow Rocks (BBL), Panionios (Greece) and Omonia B.C. (Cyprus). Last season he played for Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (Germany Pro A), where he had a solid season, he averaged 13.6 points, 5.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals.
''With the Austin Luke leaving, we were looking for an experienced point guard, who makes other players better. We think we found the right leader in Nate. In addition to his qualities as a player, his character stood out during the conversations, very involved and the right winning mentality," said Anouk Biesters, GM Yoast United. Head coach Paul Vervaeck adds: ''Nate is a smart, versatile point guard, who fits the type of basketball we want to play. As an extension of the coaching staff, he will lead the way on the court.”

In addition to Kaleb Warner, Bob Berghuis, Nesta Agasi and Duane Wilson, Lucas N’Guessan, Josh Ferguson, Jaro Abrams and Nate Britt, the rest of the roster will be presented in the coming weeks.
